On Sunday afternoon about 150 caravans of an evangelical community illegally occupied the football pitch of the Vignette stadium. The mayor requested a prefectoral eviction order, to be served Tuesday morning. Due to gendarmes being deployed at the G7 summit in Évian, rapid evacuation is unlikely. Sports clubs cancelled training, and a school party is under threat.
Serémange-Erzange
About 30 caravans occupied the Henri Laurent stadium pitch. Deputy mayor Pierre Vasco, who tried to negotiate, was strongly pushed by two or three people and filed a complaint. The municipality began eviction proceedings; the lawn and goals were damaged.
Bruges
On 7 June 2026 about 130 caravans occupied the football pitches of the Daugère complex. Mayor Frédéric Giraud faced aggression, his bicycle was thrown into bushes in front of police, who did not intervene. The site was cleared in less than 48 hours, on 9 June. The complex, rebuilt in summer 2025, suffered no significant damage.
