On Monday morning, a motorhome caught fire in the residential area of Sevelen on Töpferstraße. The owner began extinguishing the fire with a garden hose before firefighters arrived. Thanks to quick action, the fire was prevented from spreading to neighboring buildings and a hedge. The interior of the motorhome was significantly damaged; the amount of damage and the cause of the fire have not yet been determined.
On Sunday afternoon, a motorhome belonging to a couple burned out completely on the A8 motorway towards Munich between Irschenberg and Weyarn. The 60-year-old driver noticed smoke, pulled onto the hard shoulder, but could not extinguish the fire. Traffic was blocked for almost two hours, causing jams in both directions. According to police, the damage is estimated at 80,000 euros, with a preliminary cause of technical fault. No one was injured.
