Campervans continue to get stuck on the narrow road to Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall in the Berwyn Mountains (73 meters high). This is not the first such incident in 2026, leading to calls to ban motorhomes from using the route. The road is too narrow for large vehicles, especially at peak times.
Meanwhile, Denbighshire County Council is progressing plans for official motorhome parking at six sites, including Rhyl and Prestatyn. The initiative aims to combat unauthorized overnight stays that cause environmental and social problems. The sites will offer short-stay parking (maximum two nights), water access, waste disposal, and payment via mobile app or machines. The project is funded by the Welsh and UK governments.
However, residents of Rhyl have opposed the council's plan to turn a green area on the promenade into a motorhome parking lot. They argue the space is important for recreation and spoils the sea view.
