On Thursday afternoon, a motorhome and a passenger car collided on the N337 (Rijksstraatweg) between Deventer and Olst. Both vehicles had two occupants, none of whom were injured. The accident occurred on a gentle curve near Havezate ‘De Haere’ when one vehicle crossed the center line, causing a sideswipe. Because the drivers lost sight of each other after the curve, a false report was made that one vehicle had gone off the dyke into the water, prompting a large fire brigade response with divers and an underwater drone. Emergency services found everyone safe on the road; the road was closed until 14:30.
