Tragedy on Sylt
A 78-year-old man died on the island of Sylt at the Südhörn campsite in Tinnum. According to police, he was helping a 77-year-old acquaintance maneuver a motorhome when he tripped and was run over. Both pensioners came from Lower Saxony.
Rescuers and firefighters recovered the body with no signs of life; the man could not be saved. The Flensburg prosecutor's office has called in an independent expert to clarify the circumstances. One version suggests the victim stumbled while giving signals.
