Meetings of enthusiasts of GDR camping culture take place at Birnbaumteich near Harzgerode. Since 2015, owners of historic Trabant cars and QEK Junior, Intercamp, Weferlinger LC9-200 and Würdig 301 caravans have been gathering there. More than 100 East German caravans were counted at one meeting. Participants use original or restored equipment, including roof tents such as the Müller-Dachzelt, developed in 1979.
