The campsite in Beaugency (Loiret) is hosting a vintage caravan rally from August 18 to 23, organized by the Retro Camping Club of France. The event features 137 car-and-caravan combinations. The oldest caravan dates to 1934, the newest to 1977. All are roadworthy, and the interiors (furniture, bicycles, dishes) recreate the atmosphere of the 1950s.
The club is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Participants must have equipment no newer than 1978. The program includes an exhibition, a fair, and a concert, with open days and a sale of vintage gear on August 22. The club has about 280 members from France, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, and Germany.
