Nissan to showcase MYROOM series at Tokyo Camping Car Show 2026

The DRIMO portal has compiled a selection of seven roadside stations (michi-no-eki) in Niigata Prefecture where travelers can take a daytime bath or sleep in their vehicle. The stations feature onsen, free foot baths, and 24-hour restrooms. Some facilities, such as Michi-no-eki Asahi and Michi-no-eki Sekikawa, also offer camping zones and parks. The selection is based on data current as of August 2025.

Japanese company Green Energy & Company has started selling the ASOBOX Villa trailer home, designed for quick deployment of high-end accommodation. The model enables hotel launch in 4 months instead of the usual 1.5–2 years, bypasses building code restrictions, and can be placed in areas with development limitations. Price starts at 16.98 million yen (about 18.68 million with tax).

Isuzu A&S unveiled the GeoRoam camper at Tokyo Auto Salon 2026, built on the Be-cam chassis. Priced from ¥21.78 million. Length 6.72 m, height approx. 3 m. Features solar panels, air conditioner, microwave, 70L fridge, and waterproof multi-compartment.

Direct Cars (Suzuka, Mie Prefecture) will present a camper built on a Daihatsu Hijet Truck in collaboration with workwear brand Dickies at the Tokyo Camping Car Show 2026 (July 11–12, Tokyo Big Sight). The model seats four and sleeps up to three, and comes standard with a kitchen unit, refrigerator, lithium-ion battery (200 Ah), and 2000 W inverter. Sales will be limited from July 11, 2026, to June 28, 2027.

At the Tokyo Outdoor Show 2026 (June 26–28, Makuhari Messe, Chiba), Mazda presented three CX-5 variants tailored for camping and vanlife. Developed with Hiroshima-based partners (AutoExe, Stella Crafts, Nora Dogu Seisakusho), the lineup includes an off-road version, a sleep-ready model with a factory Bed Cushion (1,500 mm unfolded length), and a long-travel setup with Yakima roof gear. The show underscores Mazda’s push to position the CX-5 as a multi-purpose SUV for daily use and outdoor adventures.

Japanese manufacturer Car Interior Takahashi unveiled the AZUSA model based on the Toyota HiAce. The camper features a wall-mounted air conditioner instead of a roof unit, enabling entry into multi-story parking lots, and a projector for watching matches on a large screen.
