From August 26 to September 3, the Caravan-Salon in Düsseldorf, the world's largest trade fair for caravans and motorhomes, will take place. Organizers expect more than 830 exhibitors — a record number — and at least 250,000 visitors. For the first time, separate zones for roof tents and off-road vehicles will be introduced.
Despite the record number of participants, the industry is seeing a decline in new motorhome registrations, which could lead to discounts for buyers. The number of registered motorhomes in Germany has nearly tripled over the past ten years, exceeding one million. E-mobility has not yet become widespread, but demand is growing for autonomous models with large lithium batteries and solar panels.
Ahead of the fair, bankruptcies among rental companies and dealers have increased, causing concern in the industry. Nevertheless, according to organizers, the industry is not on the brink of a downturn.
