CARAVAN SALON 2026 in Düsseldorf draws 259,000 visitors

Volkswagen is offering the Caddy California for lease at 199 euros per month on a 24-month contract with an annual mileage of 10,000 km. Including a 1,290 euro delivery fee, total costs over two years amount to 6,066 euros, an effective rate of 252.75 euros and a total leasing factor of 0.61. The vehicle features a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine with 116 hp and a 7-speed DSG, a fold-out bed measuring 1.98 by 1.07 metres, a folding table and two chairs. Its height of 1.83 metres allows access to any multi-storey car park. Delivery is expected in about three months. ADAC rated the Caddy California 2.1, placing it second in its camper ranking.

Representatives of the Brazilian Expo Motorhome trade fair took part in Caravan Salon 2026, held from 28 August to 6 September in Düsseldorf. The delegation was led by Expo Motorhome president Alexandre Boff and included businessmen from four national companies and architect Marcos Pivari, founder of the MaCamp portal. The trip aimed to prospect new exhibitors, follow industry trends and consolidate institutional exchange with the German organisers, who had sent directors to the Brazilian event the previous year. The 10th Expo Motorhome is scheduled for 25–29 November 2026 at the Expotrade Convention Center in Pinhais, Greater Curitiba, with an expected 30,000 visitors.

Since mid-August, 12 wooden glamping cabins have been available for rent at SeeCamping Langlau on the Kleiner Brombachsee. The new accommodation type expands the campsite's offering.

Eura Mobil is expanding its Xtura range with a second model, the Xtura 656 HB. The 6.68 m motorhome (about 20 cm shorter than the Xtura 686 EF) sleeps four: two in a rear transverse bed and two in an electric roof tent that deploys at the push of a button. It is based on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with all-wheel drive, 190 hp and an automatic transmission. The base price is 183,400 euros. Standard equipment includes the roof tent, all-wheel drive, a panoramic roof, underfloor heating and a combined gas and induction hob.

Mercedes has unveiled the new version of its Marco Polo camper van, based on the latest generation of the Classe V-Sprinter. The presentation took place at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf. The camper features a new pop-up fabric roof with a double-walled aluminium shell, adding 10 cm of headroom, LED lighting with adjustable modes, an electrically deployable two-person bed in the seating area, a redesigned awning, new blinds and a less energy-consuming cooler. It measures 5.14 m long, 1.93 m wide and 1.99 m high. Diesel engines from 163 hp to 237 hp are available, paired with a G9 Tronic automatic gearbox, plus an all-wheel-drive variant. Production has been moved to the Ludwigsfelde plant, while the base model is assembled in Vitoria, Spain.

German outlet T-Online listed six accessories to reduce common risks in camper travel: vehicle and drawbar scales, a gas level gauge, storm lines and pegs for the awning, electrical adapters and extension cables, and warning signs for Italy and Spain. The scales help avoid overloading, the gas gauge prevents unexpected empty cylinders, storm lines protect the awning from wind, adapters and extension cables ensure safe campsite power connections, and the signs make protruding loads visible. Italy and Spain have different requirements for the number of stripes and the border of such signs.
