In Borgofranco d'Ivrea, owners and operators of the Balmetti wine cellars oppose the 'Balmetti on the road' project, which plans to replace the only large parking lot with 32 motorhome spaces. The €150,000 project, approved in February and 80% funded by the Ministry of Tourism, includes fencing, an automated barrier, new restrooms, a laundry, a playground, and charging stations. Construction is scheduled from June to December 2026, eliminating parking for the entire active season. Owners fear losing customers and have requested an urgent meeting with the commissioner, considering legal action.
