Water shortages at Grand Canyon National Park are expected to disrupt RV camping into the fall. Trailer Village, the South Rim's only full-hookup RV park, has been closed since August, and other campgrounds are under strict water restrictions. Park officials say water distribution may not begin until Thanksgiving, leaving little information about the RV park's reopening. The problems stem from an August flash flood that destroyed a water intake pump and damaged about 40% of the old pipeline between the Phantom Ranch area and the North Rim; a second flood on Sept. 16 damaged temporary water infrastructure.
