Sale of Ore Strand campsite affects guests at Præstø Camping

Tønder Municipality in Denmark introduced stricter motorhome parking rules two years ago following numerous complaints, particularly on Rømø and in Møgeltønder. Overnight bans were imposed and official sites such as Oasen on Rømø and Marsk Camp near Skærbæk were expanded. According to Poul Erik Kjær, chairman of the technical committee, complaints about wild parking have ceased, though enforcement remains random. Criticism persists over motorhomes occupying staff parking spaces at the town hall, and a three-year-old overnight ban on Rømø was revoked after objections from the organisation Danmarks Frie Autocampere.

In North Schleswig, Denmark, discussions continued this summer about wild camping with motorhomes and campervans. At the beach parking lot in Alnor near Gravenstein, only resting is allowed, not camping, yet motorhomes and campervans, mostly with German plates, occupy the lot. Travellers use the Park4Night app to find overnight spots, while campsite operators point to sufficient official pitches with infrastructure. In low season, a pitch at Gammelmark campsite costs about 260 kroner per night, in high season about 410 kroner; at Aabenraa campsite, prices start at 256 kroner for two people in an autocamper and 274 kroner for a motorhome, with electricity at 50 kroner.

Simon Kilimann, a former Airbus and Eurogate manager, acquired the Galsklint campsite in Middelfart, Denmark, in 2025. In the first season, unexpected costs exceeded €120,000 for a new jetty, pipe and heating repairs, and IT issues. From late October 2025, the campsite will operate year-round, with plans to add pitches and a sauna. The owner is considering reopening reception in high season due to guest feedback.

Bornholm resident Yanita Ivanova converted an old caravan into a hair salon and now serves clients at the harbor in Nexø. The 4-by-2-meter salon is fully booked on its first day. Ivanova plans to travel around the island, targeting elderly people at care centers who cannot easily visit regular salons.

The TV programme Nordseereport devoted an episode to the Danish North Sea island of Rømø. The feature covers camping on the island, where motorhomes are allowed to park directly on the 12-kilometre sandy beach. Presenter Tullio-Francesco Puoti rented a camper van to test how attractive the island is for campers. The episode also includes segments on holidays with dogs, one of Europe's largest kite festivals, and a young female brewmaster.

Isabella Camp-Let unveiled the 2027 Camp-Let Alba hybrid tent trailer at the Dusseldorf Caravan Salon. Unlike previous models focused on maximum occupancy, the Alba is designed for two people, prioritizing storage and style. The trailer measures 3.23 meters in length, 1.6 meters in width, and 0.95 meters in height when closed, and expands to 18 square meters of tent space, including a bedroom, storage room, and kitchen. It is expected to be available from January 2027, with a starting price of €13,500.
