Plan for more Gypsy and Traveller pitches in Rhondda Cynon Taf

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is considering expanding the Beddau caravan site by nine pitches as part of a plan to meet the need for Gypsy and Traveller accommodation. A cabinet report recommends proceeding with phase one, which includes a site office and play area, and submitting a planning application. The council's Gypsy and Traveller Accommodation Assessment for 2022–2027 identified a need for 22 additional pitches by 2027 and five more by 2037. If approved, the expansion will be funded through Welsh Government grants or the existing affordable housing budget.

District council secures year-long extension to injunction over unauthorised development

South Cambridgeshire District Council has obtained a year-long extension from the High Court to an injunction under Section 187B of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 against unauthorised development on land west of Moor Drove, Histon. The interim injunction was initially granted on 24 May after reports of unauthorised activity. At the time of service, five caravans were on site; there are now 17. The court ordered that all but the initial five caravans must be removed.
