Estonian enthusiast Allar (known as satsmotors) rescued a rare Lancia Thesis sedan from scrapping and converted it into a camper. The car, built between 2002 and 2009, was found abandoned by the roadside where it had stood for about a year. During restoration, the 2.4-liter JTD turbodiesel engine was replaced, electronic control units were repaired, and some gear selector parts had to be 3D-printed due to lack of spares.
A hard-shell roof tent with an area of about 4 sq m was installed, rear shock absorbers were reinforced, a dual-battery system was added, and 19-inch wheels from a Jaguar XF were fitted. According to the owner, the car can reach 140 km/h without significant aerodynamic noise. Drawbacks include an outdated turbodiesel with boost issues (sticking turbo, faulty pressure control valve). The resulting camper is used for trips across Europe.
