When converting a van into a camper, soundproofing and thermal insulation should not be left until the final stage: once the floor, furniture and interior panels are installed, accessing the metal body requires disassembly. First, apply butyl or alubutyl damping to 25–40% of each panel, then thermal insulation using closed-cell foam (EPDM) or an aluminium-foam combination covering as much surface as possible. Condensation on bare metal and thermal bridges is addressed by sealing joints with aluminium tape; windows need removable thermal covers. Material quantity depends on van size: compact requires 8–12 m², medium 12–18 m², large 20–28 m² (butyl calculated separately).
