German manufacturer Ebicos has introduced the Happy Dreamer, a module that fits in a van's boot and unfolds into a sleeping area in under 10 minutes without tools or vehicle modification. Folded, it measures 120 × 130 × 28 cm and weighs about 60 kg; deployed, it forms a bed 190–210 cm long and up to 160 cm wide with 8 cm cold foam and a fibreglass slatted base. It is compatible with around 20 models, including Kangoo, Trafic, Berlingo, Jumpy, Transporter, Caddy, Vito and Transit Custom. The manual version costs €6,250 excluding delivery, while an electric version at €9,990 deploys via a button but remains attached to the vehicle. Warranty is three years.
