A Japanese owner converted a used 2019 Nissan Caravan into a camper for overnight stays, spending about a year on DIY work. The vehicle, in Super Long, High Roof, Standard Wide trim, was purchased for 2,000,000 yen.
The build includes hinoki (cypress) wood panels, a homemade kitchen with sink and pump, bed, cabinets, a NYHGOXM universal air conditioner for 68,000 yen, and a power system based on two LiTime 300 Ah lithium batteries, a 3000 W inverter, and a Renogy charger. The system provides up to 12 hours of air conditioner operation.
Total costs including the vehicle came to 2,650,000 yen, of which about 650,000 yen went to DIY work. Interior finishing and furniture cost 94,716 yen, the electrical system 327,410 yen, and exterior equipment and other items 227,426 yen. Used parts and free materials were used to reduce expenses.
