At Expo Rodantear in Tigre, Automotores Haedo presented the first prototype of its Camper Kit, a modular system that converts a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van into a motorhome without structural modifications. The kit arrives on a wheeled trolley, slides into the vehicle and attaches to the Sprinter's factory mounting points, so no drilling or cutting is required. The A3 version includes a double bed that converts into a dining table, a removable third berth, a compact kitchen with a gas hob, a sink, a chemical toilet and a shower with an electric tank for cold and hot water; the smaller A2 version omits the bathroom. Installation requires the longest Mercedes-Benz van with a 4,325 mm wheelbase, and two people can fit the kit in about half an hour. The prototype is on show to gather visitor feedback, and the project's future depends on public reaction.
