Municipalities in South Tyrol are introducing bans on overnight stays in vehicles due to sanitation and litter problems. Wolkenstein has had a ban in place since October 2025, while Kastelruth and the municipality at Lake Kalter are planning similar measures with possible vehicle towing. The Italian camper association is challenging these ordinances in court, deeming them discriminatory.
