Authorities at the Daegwallyeong pass in Gangwon Province have introduced physical and administrative measures to prevent long-term parking, overnight stays, and camping in motorhomes. A compressed gas station was built on the parking lot of the former Yeongdong Expressway's southbound rest area, reducing available spaces, and banners banning overnight stays were hung in remaining areas. Trees were planted on vacant lots along roads, and stakes and heavy structures were installed to block vehicle access. As a result, campers have moved to more remote spots such as Seonjaryeong and the entrance to the sheep farm, raising concerns about fire risk and environmental damage.
