Since November 2024, Cheongju has charged a fee for vehicles parked over 48 hours at public lots, ending the long-term occupation of these spaces. However, motorhomes and caravans have moved to peripheral roads and residential neighborhoods, causing complaints from residents. A paid dedicated lot with 30 spaces in Hyeondo-myeon is underused due to its distance from the city center, and legal measures to prevent long-term parking on regular roads are limited.
