Caravan parking in Vega Baja rejected due to cultural heritage status

The city council of Ferrol (Spain) has decided to draft a municipal ordinance regulating the parking of motorhomes and camper vans. The decision was approved unanimously at a plenary session, with the Socialist Party (PSOE) abstaining. The document will establish parking rules for these vehicles within the city.

In Spain, sleeping inside a properly parked camper is legal as long as no external elements are deployed, but local restrictions in Galicia and the Balearic Islands are tightening. A key camouflage element is an opaque bulkhead behind the front seats that hides the living area.

A 42-year-old man was taken to Hospital Virgen de Valme after a collision between a car and a motorhome on the AP-4 near Los Palacios. The accident occurred on Thursday shortly before 1:00 PM on the Cádiz-bound lane. The motorhome was heavily damaged, but no extrication was needed. The crash caused hours of slow traffic and congestion in both directions, lasting into the evening.
