The Ellsworth (Maine) City Council advanced the debate over a possible moratorium on RV parks, voting to hold an additional special meeting on the topic later this month following a lengthy discussion Monday night, Aug. 17, according to The Ellsworth American. The upcoming special meeting, which is expected to be held on Monday, Aug. 31, will occur just two days before an application for an RV park at 566 Bayside Road will come before the Planning Board for final approval on Sept. 2. The development in question — a 28-site recreational vehicle campground titled Anchor In Campground — was brought to the Planning Board on July 1 for preliminary approval. While the application received initial approval, the development was met with organized pushback from the surrounding neighborhood.
