From 12 to 15 and 19 to 22 October 2026, only one lane in each direction will be open on the Lueg Bridge on the Brenner Pass due to urgent resurfacing works. Additional night driving bans apply: from 21:00 to 5:00, trucks over 3.5 tonnes may not use the bridge if their destination is only reachable via it; from 22:00 to 5:00, all vehicles over 3.5 tonnes are banned between the Matrei-Steinach and Brenner Nord junctions, affecting buses and heavy motorhomes. Buses can use the B 182 federal road. Austrian motorway operator Asfinag announced increased police checks. The works are weather-dependent and should be completed by 23 October at the latest.
