From 1 October 2026, a ban on Euro 5 diesel vehicles will take effect in four regions of Northern Italy: Piedmont, Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna and Veneto. The restriction applies to all cities with over 100,000 inhabitants, including Venice and Milan. According to ADAC, the ban covers vehicles produced between 2009 and 2015. Knut Randem, editor of Bobilverden.no, notes that the measure primarily affects motorhome owners, many of whom own vehicles older than 11 years.
