Six motorhomes were recently fined by the Local Police in Castellón for exceeding the boundaries of their parking spaces in the Goliat parking area, located at the former fairgrounds. In Spain, improper parking of motorhomes carries fines of between 80 and 200 euros, while fines for camping outside designated areas range from 200 to 1,000 euros. Since June 2026, Spain's Directorate-General for Traffic has clarified that motorhomes and camper vans may park in any space where passenger cars are allowed, provided they respect signage and general rules: the vehicle must rest only on its tires, and no furniture, awnings, or outward-opening windows may be deployed. Castellón has two municipal parking areas for such vehicles: one near the Planetarium on Pinar beach (40 spaces) and another on Gurugú beach (94 spaces), with a fee of 10 euros per vehicle per day and a penalty of 50 euros for each 24-hour period exceeding the maximum stay.
