Environmental associations Legambiente Basso Sebino and Valle Camonica, Italia Nostra Valle Camonica and LIPU Bergamo and Brescia sent a formal warning on 11 August to the municipality of Pisogne, demanding the suspension of the permitting procedure and a full review of the camper area project in the Nistoi locality. They cite flood risk, threats to human safety, road traffic issues, and soil quality concerns.
The associations call for an independent assessment of hydraulic danger, including the possibility of vehicles being swept away by water, and an evaluation of the evacuation plan, which would use a road with a bottleneck and a one-way bridge. Concerns were also raised about possible steel mill waste in the soil. The project was published in the "Transparent Administration" section on 12 March 2025, and in December documents were released, including approval of the feasibility study and a tender that expired on 3 February 2026. As an alternative, they propose turning the area into an undeveloped public park or green zone for reforestation. The municipality has not yet published a response.
