Garching am See introduces night parking fee for motorhomes

The main and finance committee of Garching has recommended a night parking fee at around 200 spaces by Lake Garchinger See. The charge will be 5 euros per hour between 0:00 and 6:00, capped at 25 euros per night, with parking limited to two days. The decision follows complaints that cars, caravans and camper vans had been parked there for weeks or months, some used as accommodation. The town council will make the final decision at its next meeting, and the rules will be reviewed after one year.
