In the Murta Maria area near Olbia, motorhomes, equipped vans and converted vehicles were spotted among the dunes close to the sea. Photos taken the previous morning show vehicles with pop-up roofs and outdoor living equipment in a natural area by the shoreline. Residents reported the situation to local police and forestry authorities; checks will determine whether camping and parking regulations were violated. The presence of wipes and non-compostable material in the dunes further points to the area being used as an open-air toilet.
