Mervin “Merv” Rumpel, founder of Pleasure-Way Industries, died on 21 October at the age of 93. He entered the RV industry in 1968 with Glenwood Trailer Sales, and in 1986 his team built the first 10 Pleasure-Way motorhomes in the dealership’s back shop. The Saskatoon company produced Class B motorhomes sold across Canada and the United States and, for a time, in Japan. In 2024 Pleasure-Way marked its 20,000th motorhome, and the company turns 40 in 2026.

Pleasure-Way Industries has introduced two new Class B motorhomes, the Plateau-RB and Plateau XLTW, built on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter AWD chassis. Both models will debut publicly at America's Largest RV Show from Sept. 16–20 at the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Each features a large rear storage garage, solar panels, lithium battery power and an onboard generator for extended off-grid travel.
