German company Stone Offroad Design (SOD) has unveiled the SOD Peak 6×6, a luxury camper based on the Mercedes-Benz Arocs truck. The vehicle has a gross weight of 33,000 kg, a length of 6.5 m, and a width of 2.55 m. It is powered by a Mercedes OM473 turbodiesel with a displacement of 15.6 liters, producing 578 hp and 2800 Nm of torque. Drive is 6×6 with differential locks, and the suspension uses double wishbones.
The interior features leather, Alcantara, wood, and stone finishes, with a ceiling height of 2.3 m. It includes a fully equipped kitchen, a separate bathroom with shower, a bedroom with a king-size bed, home automation, a code lock, and a safe. On the roof are solar panels, a separate diesel heater, and a generator. A lifting platform for an ATV or two motorcycles is included, with an optional car trailer.
Prices for such campers typically range from two to three million euros, though the official price has not been announced. Production is made to order.
