According to the state statistical office, Thuringia's 97 campsites recorded 310,000 arrivals and about 830,000 overnight stays in 2023. This is 1.7% less than the previous year. Camping accounted for 8% of all tourist arrivals and 8.3% of overnight stays. The average occupancy rate at campsites was 15.2%, compared to 39.9% at hotels.
