The municipality of Vitry-le-François intends to buy a plot of about 1,460 square metres near the Marne to create a motorhome stopover area. The land purchase is expected to cost the local authority 11,000 euros, with additional costs for developing the site and any equipment. The plan was discussed at a town council meeting on 1 October 2026. The site is located next to the aquatic centre and the banks of the Marne, where a municipal campsite previously operated before closing when a new swimming pool was built.
