A 36-pitch motorhome stopover is due to open in Barneville-Carteret (Manche) by Easter 2027. The project, run by Camping-Car Park, received unanimous approval from the municipal council on 1 October 2026; Mayor David Legouet was authorised to proceed. The site will be accessible seven days a week, equipped with an entrance barrier and an access card system; the rate is €15 per night, all inclusive. Camping-Car Park will fund the works, while the municipality provides the land for 12 years under a temporary occupation permit. The municipality will cover lawn mowing, hedge trimming and water and energy costs, estimated at around €10,000 per year; Camping-Car Park will return around €50,000 per year to the commune. After 12 years, the permit may be renewed; otherwise, the commune will take back the developed land. The project extends measures taken in July 2025 to organise motorhome parking.
