Cliff House Holiday Park on the Suffolk coast, which came within metres of a wildfire, has reopened after holidaymakers were evacuated. The fire started on 29 July near RSPB Minsmere and spread to Dunwich Heath, affecting 150 hectares. Owner Timothy Hay said the business lost an unquantified amount, had to discard food from 110 freezers after a two-week power outage, and will file an insurance claim. The fire came within 15 metres of the park's boundary, but firefighters saved the business, and no lives were lost.
