New RV Park Opens in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan for Motorhome Travelers

Fukuoka City has deployed its first mobile large toilet trailer to improve conditions during disaster evacuations. The trailer features four private toilet stalls, electrical power, and flushing capabilities. As part of a project to enhance evacuation center environments, the city also plans to station small toilet vehicles in seven districts by autumn. The trailer will be used in a large-scale drill in Kumamoto Prefecture in May.

In the 'Jalan全国道の駅グランプリ2025' ranking, the 'Michi-no-Eki 上品の郷' station in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, ranks high. It features a farm shop, food court, hot spring facilities, and more. Comments highlight abundant delicious food, ample parking, and suitability for overnight car camping. The top spot went to 'Michi-no-Eki 川場田園プラザ' in Gunma Prefecture, known for its vast grounds and multiple activities.

DTAC, the designated operator, reopened the renovated Inoda Campground on Ishigaki Island's east coast on April 25, 2026. In partnership with NPO Nature Service, the site adopted hotel-level cleanliness standards and digital booking systems, leveraging know-how from the operator's Ishigaki Hills hotel. A beach cleanup with local high school students was also carried out.

Japanese actress Minako Tanaka, official ambassador of the Japan RV Association, shared her family's five-year experience traveling in a Nuts Clair motorhome. They visited 46 prefectures, saving on accommodation: a night at an RV park costs about 4,000 yen versus 60,000–70,000 yen for a hotel.

During a press conference for the costume exhibition, Kis-My-Ft2 member Nikaido Takashi stated that if he has days off during Golden Week, he would like to travel around Kyushu by motorhome. He mentioned that a friend had already traveled around Shikoku in a motorhome, which looked enjoyable.

On April 22, a safety prayer ceremony was held at the Hidaka Mountain Range Mountain Center within the Satsunai River Park campsite in Nakasatsunai. About 15 participants prayed for an accident-free season.
