Devon Cliffs holiday park in Exmouth has submitted an application to the district council to extend its operating season from February 1 to January 14, allowing it to welcome guests during the February school half-term. Currently, the park opens on February 28 and typically closes in November, with some festive dates in December.
The application states that extending the season would help preserve jobs and support the local economy, as well as reduce seasonal inequality in tourism investment. No new construction is planned. Owner Haven Leisure reported that its 39 parks welcomed around 3.9 million holidaymakers in 2025, with numbers expected to rise to 4 million this year.
