Skelwith Fold holiday park in Ambleside, family-run for nearly 30 years, has been awarded AA's five-star platinum rating — the highest possible. The award follows a mystery inspection in which the inspector assessed facilities, services, hospitality, and guest reviews.
The park offers 450 pitches for camping, glamping, and caravans on 130 acres near Windermere. In 2025, it was also named Holiday Park of the Year by Cumbria Tourism and holds a five-star rating from the regional tourist board. According to one source, the park has also won awards for wildlife conservation, including red squirrels.
