Construction of an inclusive campsite at Lake Störmthal near Leipzig began on Wednesday, designed for people with and without disabilities. The project, costing around 35 million euros and financed mainly from structural change funds, is scheduled to open in 2029. The site will include pitches for tents and motorhomes, holiday homes, a beach area with dining, and an adventure playground. It is expected to create 40 jobs and accommodate 500 to 600 guests per day in high season.
