Ahead of the travel season, two contrasting approaches to organizing motorhome trips have emerged. The first is independent preparation, outlined in a practical 9-step guide. The second is ready-made tours from operator Cap Orcada, offering freedom without the need to plan everything yourself.

Independent preparation

The guide highlights key steps: choosing the type of trip, selecting a suitable motorhome, building a realistic route, checking documents and insurance, booking parking and campsites, budgeting, packing minimal luggage, monitoring weather, and being ready for changes. The author emphasizes that thorough preparation reduces risks and costs without sacrificing spontaneity.

Organized tours

Operator Cap Orcada offers trips across Europe, the USA, Morocco, and Mongolia. Routes are pre-tested for large motorhomes, and groups are limited to 8–16 participants. Participants receive a road book and travel at their own pace, gathering in the evening at pre-booked campsites. Prices start from around €1,600 per person for a month-long tour of Morocco.

In Coarraze, municipal workers clean up the Chênaie site after caravans leave

About a hundred caravans belonging to the travelling community, illegally parked on the Chênaie site, left the area on Sunday, June 7, in the afternoon. The departure was calm. Mayor Marie-Agnès Ménoret Ultra, accompanied by her deputy Claude Grangé, visited the site to witness the departure. While some litter remained on the wooded terrain, most waste was placed in or near containers. On Monday morning, municipal workers began cleaning: they filled containers, and the garbage truck made several trips to remove waste. Bulky items, such as chairs and a washing machine, were loaded into the municipal dump truck and taken to the landfill.
