Odisha government launches luxury caravan tourism project

The Indian state of Odisha has launched three luxury caravans to attract young tourists and nature lovers. The six-seater buses, equipped with air conditioning, a kitchenette, and washrooms, will operate across nine destinations in the state, including Hirakud and Chilika. The project, funded under a Viability Gap Funding (VGF) scheme, aims to reduce pressure on conventional tourism hubs.

The Indian state of Odisha has launched a caravan tourism service. The initiative started on January 3, with three caravans flagged off from Dhauli. The vehicles are air-conditioned and equipped with kitchens, Wi-Fi, and bathrooms, with tariffs starting at Rs 11,111 per day.

A couple from Australia and Brazil is traveling the world in a caravan before getting married. They arrived in Kerala's Kottayam district, having covered thousands of kilometers and visited around 40 countries. Their journey began in Melbourne in October 2024.

Endowments Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy inaugurated Andhra Pradesh's first Temple Tourism Caravan. The fully equipped travel trailer was launched under the tourism department's aegis. The state government plans to introduce similar caravans across the state through public-private partnerships.

The Bihar Tourism Department has launched a luxury caravan bus service. Two vehicles, built on a Bharatbenz chassis, are equipped with sleeper beds, a kitchen, a bathroom, air conditioning, and an entertainment system. The service was inaugurated in Patna by the Tourism Minister.

A converted bus has been presented as a luxury motorhome in the Indian state of Bihar. The interior features sleeping areas, a sofa, a kitchen, and a bathroom, with a finish comparable to a five-star hotel.
