A group of travellers has vacated the green space at Beccles quay after staying for more than a week. Several caravans occupied the council-owned land on 23 May, prompting consultations with police. According to town clerk Paul Cunningham, the caravans left "of their own volition" on 31 May, eight days after arrival. The land is owned by the Beccles Fenland Charity Trust, of which the town council is the sole trustee.
