The Qinghai-Gansu loop runs 2,500–2,800 km with 4–5 hours of driving per day and takes in Qinghai Lake, Chaka and Mogao, at 3,000–6,000 yuan per person. The Taihu loop covers about 400 km with 65 service stations and costs 1,000–1,500 yuan per person. The publication advises booking campsites 3–7 days ahead and filling water tanks before departure.
