In Germany and Austria, services that allow overnight stays on farms, vineyards, and other private properties are gaining popularity. The Landvergnügen app lists about 2,000 such spots where overnight stays are free but guests are expected to buy from the on-site shop. Alternative platforms like Alpaca-Camping and Schau aufs Land charge a fixed fee or an annual subscription. The German Tourism Association views these sites as complementary to traditional campsites, not as competition.
