Sophie Vallis, a 27-year-old former teacher from the UK, quit her job after three years of teaching primary and secondary students and now travels across Europe in a motorhome. The decision came after a bank offered her a mortgage of only €58,500 on a €28,000 salary, which was insufficient for a two-bedroom house. She has visited Copenhagen, Berlin, Poland, Prague, Austria, Rotterdam, Germany, and Denmark, where she ran a half-marathon and volunteered at a horse sanctuary. Vallis says she has never felt more stable and is unsure whether she will return to a conventional life.
