External insulation mats are more effective than internal ones because they reflect sunlight before it reaches the windshield, preventing the cabin and dashboard from heating up. Internal mats are less effective as the glass still heats up and transfers heat inside. Universal mats start at around 20–30 euros, while custom-fit external mats cost between 80 and 200 euros.
