Seven roadside stations with baths selected in Niigata Prefecture

Isuzu A&S unveiled the new GeoRoam camper at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2026. The price starts at 21.78 million yen. Built on the Be-cam chassis, it features a truck-style body and a West Coast-inspired interior.

Direct Cars (Suzuka, Mie Prefecture) will present a camper built on a Daihatsu Hijet Truck in collaboration with workwear brand Dickies at the Tokyo Camping Car Show 2026 (July 11–12, Tokyo Big Sight). The model seats four and sleeps up to three, and comes standard with a kitchen unit, refrigerator, lithium-ion battery (200 Ah), and 2000 W inverter. Sales will be limited from July 11, 2026, to June 28, 2027.

At the Tokyo Outdoor Show 2026 (June 26–28, Makuhari Messe, Chiba), Mazda presented three CX-5 variants tailored for camping and vanlife. Developed with Hiroshima-based partners (AutoExe, Stella Crafts, Nora Dogu Seisakusho), the lineup includes an off-road version, a sleep-ready model with a factory Bed Cushion (1,500 mm unfolded length), and a long-travel setup with Yakima roof gear. The show underscores Mazda’s push to position the CX-5 as a multi-purpose SUV for daily use and outdoor adventures.

Japanese manufacturer Car Interior Takahashi unveiled the AZUSA model based on the Toyota HiAce. The camper features a wall-mounted air conditioner instead of a roof unit, enabling entry into multi-story parking lots, and a projector for watching matches on a large screen.

Japanese company Direct Cars has announced a limited-edition camper van created in collaboration with workwear brand Dickies. Based on the Daihatsu Hijet Truck, it will debut at the Tokyo Camping Car Show from July 11, 2026, with orders open until June 28, 2027.

Yuta and Ryoko, along with their two dogs, visited all 1,204 roadside stations (michi-no-eki) across Japan in a kei car, sleeping in the vehicle. The journey took 600 days, after which they bought and converted a Toyota HiAce into a camper.
