RV LIFE launches data-driven 'Best of the Best' campground awards

The Michigan DNR and Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency have designated 11 state parks where fireworks will be banned on Independence Day as a courtesy to veterans with PTSD, pet owners, and others sensitive to loud noises. Participating parks, including Tahquamenon Falls State Park, will post signage and inform visitors of the regulations. Most projectile fireworks like bottle rockets and roman candles are already illegal in state parks, while sparklers and ground spinners remain allowed.

Volkswagen has launched a Good Night Package for the ID. Buzz in Germany at €2,600 (approx. $2,950), including a mattress, blackout blinds, ventilation grilles, and an outdoor dining set. This package will form the basis for the ID. Buzz Tourer 4Motion, the first factory camper van Volkswagen will offer in the US since 2003. The US model is expected in 2027, with pricing yet to be announced.

The components are made from powder-coated aluminum and Richlite, resistant to rust and rot. Prices start at $1,800 for a single bench.

Police arrested Loyed Clayton Yost, owner of Clayton Construction, for allegedly stealing more than $112,000 from a 67-year-old RV park owner in Bruceville-Eddy, Texas. According to an affidavit, the victim paid Yost $124,550 in February-March 2022 to add 30 RV spaces, roads, and utilities, but the work was never completed. Yost has prior theft charges related to construction work in McLennan and Burnet counties.

A collector in the US has paired a 1968 Chevrolet C20 CST pickup with a 1966 Del Rey Sky Lounge camper shell. The combination is listed on Bring a Trailer, with a high bid of $61,020 failing to meet the reserve. The Del Rey Sky Lounge is a rare three-level camper, discontinued in the early 1970s after regulations banned passenger transport in the upper level.

An Oregon man faces hate crime charges after a confrontation at Sunny Ridge RV Park in Jordan Valley. On June 20, police responded to a report of a man yelling racial slurs and threats at a woman. The suspect, Moses Esparza, 42, was charged with first-degree bias crime (a felony), second-degree bias crime, and menacing.
