Ronan, a 30-year-old French web developer, sold his flat in Brest for €112,000 (according to one source in 2021, according to another in early 2022) and bought a used 2005 motorhome for €22,000, spending an additional €800 on modifications. Since April 2022, he has been living and working in the motorhome while travelling across Europe.

His monthly expenses include about €200 on fuel, €240–300 per year on gas, and €5–20 per day on campsites and parking. With an income of €1,600–1,800 per month, he manages to save €300–400. Winter costs rise due to heating, but Ronan considers this lifestyle more economical than owning property.
